Adjusting
the Display Settings
It
is very important that you correctly adjust the display options
when running Virtual Impact for the first time on your PC.
Virtual Impact was designed to run on a wide range of PCs
and as such, you will need to find the right settings to use on
your computer. Make
sure you use the default display options the first time you play
Virtual Impact. Do not set any of the display options to maximum before running Virtual
Impact for the first time.
If you choose a graphics
setting that is too high and is not supported by your graphics
card, the game will not run properly and will sometimes return
back to Windows. When
finding the settings for your computer, start the game with all
display options on low and then gradually work them up one at a
time. If you
encounter problems or low frame rates, simply change the last
setting back to the previous position that worked.
All of the display options are found in the Virtual Impact
menu bar that first comes up when double clicking the Virtual
Impact icon or when running the game from the start menu.
Play
the Tutorial
If
the graphics on your game is working properly and you are having a
different kind of problem, make sure you play through the tutorial
and follow the instructions very closely.
This game is different from most other games, and it is
possible that your problem is due to a misunderstanding in the
operation of the game that can be cleared up by playing the
tutorial.
Known
Issues
Some
Voodoo graphic cards require all textures to be 256x256 pixels or
smaller. Therefore, if you have this card, set the Background
Resolution under the Display Options to Low.
Otherwise, the game will run at extremely low frame rates
and the game will be unplayable.
